1912 Trench watch - any idea which movement this might be?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Woeking on this George Stockwell trench watch, but the movement has me stumped.  It’s a cylinder escapement and there are no markings on the movement apart from what appears to be a ‘G’ and ‘Made in Switzerland’.  It looks very similar to the movement in this thread below, but has one bridge that covers barrel and train wheels. It needs a new balance staff and third wheel, hence the need to ID the movement.

Based on this website I found, http://mirius.co.uk/CalibreIndex.htm?All,MST

It looks like an MST 48 cylinder movement

Good luck finding parts, however this and the MST 59 may (may) have interchangeable train wheels, so you may (may) have more chances.

Hope you can fix it!

What a brilliant website. So interesting. Thank you
