Hi I'm new here

Hello together
I would like to introduce myself briefly. My name is Jonny and I am from Switzerland. Since childhood I am fascinated how a mechanical watch works. Now I am a bit older and have the patience and the skills to dive into this fascinating world. Unfortunately, there are no in-depth workshops near here and I would like to buy this online course from Mark Lovick. However, I am mainly interested in automatic movements and the course is only about manual winding movements. Should I still buy the course? I want to disassemble and reassemble an ETA 2824 movement. I work in the engineering industry and in my spare time I assemble micro drones. A steady hand and good eyes I have already as a prerequisite :-.)
Do you have any tips?
Thanks in advance

You're probably aware that when you start off in any field like the engineering field you don't just start at the top you start at the bottom and get the basic theories down as you work your way up.

So for instance an automatic watch is the manual watch with an automatic attached to it. Sometimes its integrated in all is one thing but a lot of times it's a separate attachment. So everything in Mark's course on mechanical watches still applies to the automatic watch. It just that you have to start somewhere and it's easier to start with the basic mechanical watch not having all the complications of the automatic watch.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  As mentioned by John,   Start with the basics and avoid any unesscesary complications in the first instance  and once you fully understand the basics its then time to move on,
