Happy to stumble across the site, hopefully I don't become bothersome with questions, etc.  I currently have several different maker's pocket watches and wrist watches as practice "victims", with some hope that they all may actually be functioning at some point.  (some were bought working).  So far, I have watched several different online courses, and finding more as I go.  I have found that mistakes are a great learning tool, I'm sure I'll make plenty along the way, but hopefully the resources here help to minimize those.  Before a 40+ year career in Goodyear's research and chemical divisions in Akron, Ohio, my father worked replacing watch crystals and minor repairs in the 1950's.  My Uncle began repairing anything with a mainspring as a retirement hobby.  Sadly, both have passed  some time ago, so personal advisement isn't available, but time must run in my blood.
