Vintage Pandow ladies watch

Recommended Posts

Assembling the movement and noticed one of the banking pins was bent. Tried to straighten and it broke off. Any wisdom on how these pins are installed. I tried to remove the good one but it would not unscrew or pull out using gentle pressure. Photo taken with iPhone at 10x.

Thanks for your help, Dave

Finally finished installing banking pins. Pins are 0.030" in diameter and 0.050" in length. Knurled the pin between two files for a little surface area to hold glue. I tried Red Loctite , JB Weld and supper glue. The supper glue held the best. In order to install the pins in the holes I tacked the pin to the end of a straight pin with supper glue. Needs a little clean-up then start reassembly to see if t works.IMG_4693.thumb.jpeg.a42ebc75c6aedc21219e2f15cd80ac23.jpegIMG_4694.thumb.jpeg.de47062120fbc6337063764ec6d6dded.jpegIMG_4686.thumb.jpeg.25123eb017362d80913082214f68d23d.jpeg

Kalanag did not think my work was good enough, neither did I. photo shows third attempt at installing the banking pins.  Turned down a stepped pin on my Sherline lathe.  0.040" stepped down to 0.022"  x  0.050 overall length. Hope he likes it.

On the the reassembly.
