Hi,

I am very very new to watch repairing but I have over a dozen mechanical watches upstairs none of them work, not to mention a few clocks. I became fascinated, in fact quite transfixed to the YouTube videos of watches being dismantled and reassembled. My only experience is for my A-Level physics class I set a project for the students to workout how a Smiths Electric clock works and attempt to repair one. I am retired now and thinking of starting technician diploma in watch  & clock maintenance and repair.  It will be very interesting to read about peoples experiences when mending watches and hope to learn a lot. I am from Bridport, Dorset England.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find quite a few enthusiasts who are eager and learning however there are also a couple of very knowledgeable individuals who keep us on the right track. I find that it can be helpful to read of others having issues as I have either run into the same problems or expect to at some point.

Enjoy!
