I am a retired physician and have taken up watchmaking.  I have completed Mark's course. I have a lathe, Jacot tool, staking set and a stereo microscope. I successfully service about half the watches I touch and the other half I break or lose the parts on the floor. Knee pads might be might next acquisition.

Hi Sandy, welcome to the forum.

My watch "bench" is in my office with a carpeted floor so 99% of the stuff just disappears into the carpet pile.

So, how many of Mark's courses have you completed? The first three or have you also completed #5 on chronos?

Welcome sandy. You need a big magnet and a bright torch that will pick out  any shiny refectve watchparts tucked into your carpet. You have some cool tools already 👍. Accompany any questions with plenty of good qualty photos. Enjoy your time here.
