Hello all, how is everyone. Very well I hope...

 Does anyone know where I can get the interchangeable Arms for a Jacot Pivoting Tool? Not the roller side but the burnishing and pivot end arms. Also, if anyone knows the proper name for those arms please do say. Surely there available??? My fingers are crossed.

are you talking about the lanterns? Ofrei.com has them.

I got an idea and had to test it. I had one bad lantern so I made some experiments on jeweling it. I enlargened one hole so that it accepted the whole balance staff and then glued a jewel over the hole (Seitz flat olive with 0,08 mm hole). I used shellac since it's easy to soften if you need to adjust the jewel. Optimal solution would be to drill a hole the size of a small jewel but I didn't have the small jewel nor the drill bit. Or reamer small enough. There would also be no centering issues that way. So I did some pivot rounding for a test and it worked as supposed so upgrading these lanterns with jewels seems like an option. In a pic it looks like the jewel's not centered but it's photographed through the left ocular. Any thoughts?

      Yes, it looks like GT Revue 30. Doctor, You can not replace escape wheel by the dimensions You listed. One needs to know much more things like number of leaves of the pinion and it's diameter, the position in high of the table and the pinion, the hight between the pivots, the exact pivots diameter... And then, even if suitable wheel is found, one will need to know how to adjust the pallets position correctly. Restoring antique movements is something different than replacing parts. In older movements parts are not interchangeable, this means spare parts do not exist. Here the case is different, but still escapement adjustment will be needed if a wheel from a donor is found. So may be it will be easier to restore the donor for You...Restoring antique movements usually means making of the parts needed and this requires knowlage and working on lathes skill. In this case repivoting of the wheel is the natural solution, but there is a long way that one must walk untill getting ready for such work.

      I was looking at Essence of Renata, a chemical used a lot for cleaning hairsprings: "Specially prepared solution for degreasing watch and instrument components. Indispensable for degreasing hairsprings."
