Hi my name is Mike and I am from Sacramento, CA. I am now almost 70 years of age and retired but have always had an interest in watch repair. Many years ago 1978 I took a 2 year course in watch repair at a Junior College in Alabama and completed it successful. I was lucky to have someone in my class that worked for a very prominent Jewelry store in Hunstville, AL. He helped me gain employment there while going to school to work on watches and engraving while learning my trade. So I was wondering what everyones opinion is on me taking this course at this time and refresh my long lost skills with some things I still can remember about repairing watches. At this point I am considering this course or the Learnwatchmaking.com course online also. Well thank you for any help you can give me.

Welcome here. Since you have already hands on experience you should be able to do a lot before more training is needed, then when it comes to that I recommend the high quality one by our Host Mark Lovick at watchfix.com

This reminds me of my teen son's interest to immigrate to France to learn Chinese.

Chinese is tough. After 12 years of learning Chinese in school, I can't even read the stuff they are teaching in kindergarten these days. I think I have Chinese dyslexia.
