Second company to make what is essentially a sweep second hand. Just a different way to GS.

That's a mistake only in the mind of a minority of purists. Have a read:

That was exactly the topic what I was referring to. My comment was tongue-in-cheek.

If I looked at my trade, the equivalent would be that we are not allowed rags to clean up any possible over lubrication or greasy handprints. Bit silly, really.

Banning the use of rodico can be counter productive, if the watchmakers in the service center might just otherwise ignore any mistakes they made in oiling. If you have to clean an entire movement because you overoiled a small part, you would be inclined to ignore your mistake, especially if your performance appraisal in a service center is on productivity.

 Price tag is 4500 bucks. 

I imagine no such thing as adjustment of Oscilator parts, guess you just replace with a new one in case of oscilator problem, can't make one on your lathe either. 

Its a smart design for sure, doesn't look to have the same fate as tuning forks.
