Master craft spring winder NEW hook spring fitted

I have sang the praises of the Mastercraft watch mainspring Winder many times here. However one of the springs that hooks onto the mainspring broke and the spare winders hook was worn so I needed to replace. After a search on the net I found this company (UK) https://www.leespring.co.uk

This was my first attempt so don’t be to critical. I ordered a extension spring but in hind sight I should have ordered a Torsion spring which would have made the job a hole lot easier. However see pics.

This is how the end hook was created. Held with a cocktail stick and the end pressed into my wood bench with an old screwdriver.

I found this the best tool for screwing the new spring onto the shaft.

Finished job. The spring is a touch to short but should work.
