How to paint indices myself (not restoration, but daily beater)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've assembled various Seiko models in the past year and am thinking of modding Casio G-shocks square or round models next.

In particular, I've come across a 'CasiOak' model online that has the indices painted and I would like to do that for myself. What kind of paint would you use in such case? Thinking of another hobby (model building) I'm thinking model paint like Revell is suitable - they have bold colours and, once diluted, can be applied with a very even finish. But perhaps it wouldn't stand a beating? I'd like to wear it as a daily beater. Of course, repairing it myself is not a fuss then :-)

Thanks!

if the indices are inside the watch (below the crystal) model paints will be fine. I usually use womens nail varnish but thats a bit tricky .. best done in one go.. if you have to add a 2nd go wait until it dries.

After painting (with any paint) leave it to dry completely before installing, at least 24 hours. This is because the fumes may cloud the crystal and may also affect the dial paint.
