Seiko correct dials: BULLHEAD & POGUE

Recommended Posts

Probably a very "nooby" question but i wanted to know in what year they produced these seiko's. I know that there is a methode I can't however find an explanation of finding the production year anywhere. The reason I want to know the production year is because the dials are pretty banged up and I want to find and aftermarket dial that fits close if not perfect to the original of the year of production ?

Checkout this site  as it is able to decode the caseback numbers

Seiko serial number "coding" is so simple that can be easily remembered and read without websites.
1st digit is the manuf. year in units, 2nd the month with Oct, Nov and Dec represented by the initial, last 4 digits the progressive numbering for that month.
Only when a particular model has been produced for more than 10 years (very very few  are,) there can be a doubt about the decade, which is normally solved by looking at other details of the watch or mov.t.
