Found this in my Dad's stuff.  It has a wealth of information about lathe use.  I found a test paper folded in the book.  This must have been one of his textbooks when in watchmaking school in the late 40's

An interesting book as relavent today as when you Dad was using it.  A treasure.

The title looked familiar? So I had to Google and it is more helpful if you have the authors Practical Benchwork for Horologists by Louis & Samuel Levin. This is because I tend to think about this as the Levin book.

Haha, I always think of it as "the levin book" too. One of my faves, such a mass of info it's almost random.

Maybe one of the reasons we think of it as the levin book is it relates to Lathe's. Like for instance at the link below interesting company name isn't it?. The link takes you to their history pages it's an interesting read. At the bottom of the second page is a reference to the book. The first school that I went to for watch repair had two of the lathes. Which is probably why I think of the book associated with the author and their lathes.

This one has been on my list of books to acquire for some time, but it way always hella expensive. Seems like the price has come down recently, so I may splurge on a copy.
