Greetings all. My name is Chris and am a full-time pastor in Chester, NJ, USA. During the pandemic I found that having some watch repair and restoration videos playing on my second display at my desk was very relaxing and interesting, fascinating even. I began purchasing some basic tools and modifying a few watches, replacing crystals and hands, then dials and so on. I just purchased a basic hand-wind watch to try to completely take apart and have been playing with that. All is going well except, did you know that ratchet wheel screws are often left-hand thread? Well, I forgot that but all is well and it is part of the learning experience. I am very active on the Bushcraft USA forum under a similar name, and there is a bit of watch talk over there and it is a great community. I am looking forward to a similar experience here, learning much and maybe even contributing along the way! Thanks for having me. -
Leave it there, you want the gasket fully and well seated before fitting the crystal.

It could be temporary, and it could be that I have a terrible third world internet connection, but ocasde.com looks to have gone dark. -
