Japanese quality? Not always

A Togichi Tokei 36mm insert quartz module.

Never heard of this maker before. Hands are plastic, got distorted over time, and won't like to be straightened.

Setting knob, or what is left of it, doesn't move hands. Luckily I had them off anyway.

I have had a few of Togichi Tokei quartz units over the years  and been able to fix quite a lot of them except where corrosion has had it way, Its a mid range unit as opposed to the cheap £1.50 units and even some of those can be fixed. But like all things  you sometimes get a duffer.  I never throw away ones which have board failures but keep for parts. sounds like its had a had life jdm.
