Watch Stem Assortment, Crown Assortment and Crystal Assortment (Achrylic)

Hello

I hope this is not to big an ask. Can someone please post a link(s) to an assortment of stems, crowns and crystals they bought and feel like the kits are a good addition to a parts inventory.

I've recently bought a watch that is missing the stem and crown. Instead of trying to figure out the correct size of each then ordering a single set, I thought it would make more sense to order an assortment and try and select the correct size from a variety of sizes.  For example, would an ETA stem assortment be a good place to start or does someone know of a generic size lit? The watch I'll be restoring is suppose to be a 1940's Bovet, however I haven't opened it yet and so don't know the caliber nor to much about the watch itself.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

Michael

My feeling is, there are just too many variations. Unless you are a professional, best to order specific to requirements. The stem you need will become clear when you identify the movement (help from members here, should you need it). For the crown, you need the exact model number or, failing that, old photos or just personal preference to choose the style. Then it needs to be a fit to the stem and tube, with the correct sealing.

The best advice I can give is always try first to get hold of the correct stem. That way you can be sure all fits well. In my days you could buy unfinished stems that means with a little modification you could machine one to fit. Build up stocks of stems and balance staffs as well as crystals in fact build up stocks of everything that you need to repair watches. I go onto ebay everyday and I find loads of old stock of watch materiel. If it was me starting out that is where I would start.
