Well what do you say, a promotional case knife nice looking bone handle price totally unrealistic.

So that's what it is. I thought I was missing something. I thought it was some wizard's wand which you only needed to wave it over the non-working watch and it magically fixes everything.

I have noticed some common, everyday tools appearing on ebay with ridiculous prices, sometimes 10X of what Cousins is charging. I just don't get it.

Hector, there is always somebody being oppertunistic as we see often with the Gems Old Hippy digs up on Ebay but there seems to be plenty of people who will pay the price through lack of knowledge, A human failing. The old adage still rings true. " If it looks too good to be true it usually is".

Some people on ebay are just there to rip people off.

I have just found this. The person admits the main tool is missing and some parts might not be Omega. But he is still asking for a ridicules amount of money for something that without the main tool is utterly useless.

If you see something on ebay that is to do with horology just ask for advise, or if you want to keep it personal just contact me.

And I deeply appreciate that offer, and I am sure I'm not alone there.  I may take you up on that at some point too.  You're a gem, O.H.

I'm always on the lookout for the OEM tools, such as the Omega kit above.

But they always command absolutely silly money. Especially Rolex tools. Many of the (Rolex) tools being sold are for much older watches (which may have little to no use today), and in contrast the Chinesium case openers are far less expensive and work as well, if not better than, a worn out OEM case die (as an example).

I do have a Rolex case tube installation tool (the third tube tool I've bought since I started), and it is far superior to the previous two.

You have to decide what you need, how badly, and adjust the purchase price you're willing to pay accordingly.

It would be great to find a kit like that in such good condition.

But I’m not seeking case openers at the moment Anyway.

I nearly bought a micro stellita wrench- the one with the liquid inside for precise adjustment- but I let it pass me by...

Yep, I see it all the time, kills me.  People with no watch knowledge find these and see a name they recognize, and think it's worth millions.  We could start a whole section on these crazy asks ?
