Now also Incabloc restricts?

Recommended Posts

The assortment box was a great way to be covered in case of incidents and spend less. Last time was out of stock at Cousins, now it disappeared, the answer I got:

Unfortunately the item you have requested is restricted and no longer available for distribution from the manufacturer.

I see there are ungraded cheap boxes on Ebay but with these on doesn't know what he gets exactly.

Oh, and the price of "non-Swiss gaskets" went up by 50%, for no apparent reason.

This is a protection, to prevent fake replacing Swiss.

Authorized repair centers will be provided with genuine parts.

Really? The thing is that only the assortment box has disappeared from Cousins, it's not even listed as restricted.

One can still buy all the Incabloc products individually.

My guess is they just can't be bothered making them anymore. The Inca assortments I have are things of beauty but are from a time when all watches were mechanical and watches were serviced regularly and parts got sold all the time. Sad though. Inca was always really cool with those kits. Kif never did them like that.

Do material houses sell Swiss ETA parts?

Yes, when they can obtain them, how they do we shouldn't known or ask. Note a genuine part scheduled to be back in stock Nov 1st.?

Do ETA service centers instal Asian made parts?

Technically speaking, yes, because ETA has factories in China and Thailand ?
However, the subject here Is Incabloc, not ETA.  They are not owned by the Swatch group.

They are already out of stock for quite some time. I bought one set in the red box at Boley in Germany maybe 7 years ago and quite soon after that they were not available anymore.

on the other hand many watches use them, so find a nice pile of watch junk at a flea market, dismantle them sort them and clean them and you are up and running as a hobby watchmaker.

Yes, that's a common say but at least in my country at the moment flea markets are closed, and even before that the selection was scarce and expensive. Not wasting my time there when I can safely buy junk online.

This was always going to happen as ETA is owned by Swatch and unfortunately this company make the majority of shock springs. Its getting difficult to service and repair watch movements if parts are required.

This topic is about Incabloc (not ETA), which as mentioned above is an independently owned company.

I find perfectly plausible that they discontinued the assortement for whatever reason. Individual parts are available and I'm happy enough with that.
