Question for all of you horologists

Good afternoon all! I will be right out with it and let you know that I know basically nothing about watches,clocks, or how to repair or make them. There have always been watches, pocket watches, wall clocks, and pretty much anything that keeps time around my whole life though. Well my Grandfather on the other hand must of been quite good at it. I believe he went to school for it in the 50’s. So the reasoning behind my post today, is that I have a garage full of brand new parts and pieces to probably every watch brand that ever existed. What should I do with these items? Attempt to sell them? I feel like throwing them away would be a terrible waste! I just have absolutely no idea what most of it is or what any of it would potentially be worth. I will attach a few pictures of a couple of the drawers and items. If you all would please give me some feed back, I would be extremely appreciative!!! Sorry for the long post and I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Wow, that looks like quite a treasure trove! I'm relatively new to this (I'm sure those more experienced will weigh in), but I believe what you have is quite valuable, not just in terms of dollars, but in terms of providing parts to those who can make use of them. You can probably sell the whole lot to a retailer who specializes in vintage parts and there are many of them on Ebay, but you may have to do some cataloguing to provide some sense of what you have. Maybe one or more of the members would be interested. I sure you'll get some helpful suggestions.

If it were me I’d guess at price and offer the whole lot up locally. Honestly is it worth your time to dig through piece by piece and determine a price?

Is there anyway to determine what each piece is worth? I am talking thousands of pieces.

Start with crystals, sizes are printed on envelopes, you should measure each piece to make sure you got the right piece in each envelope.

Trawl ebay for prices.

You need a bit of education for the rest, abundance of help on this forum.

The easy way to do it is to divide it up into groups and put it on eBay as an auction starting at $1.  People will bid it up to what it is worth and then stop bidding. your items are sold and you know exactly what they are worth.

Those of us on this forum who are interested in vintage and antique watches have a vested interest in helping you sell these items.  The grouping suggestion is probably the best option for someone not interested in spending the rest of their life selling these parts.  If you decide to go this route, please post your ebay account name here so that we can all follow your auctions.

That is a pile of parts. Don't suppose there is a day wheel that has English and Roman numerals to suit a Seiko 7016a movement?
