Hi, I am from Malaysia...

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Fredric, from Malaysia. I started my watch collection since early 90's but stopped when I met the love of my life, my lovely wife. I stopped so that she dont have to worry about me spending all my money into this hobby instaed of our new family.  However, 23 years later, our happy marriage ended abruptly, when I lost my wife to a very severe brain-stem stroke last year and that throw me into a depression. The doctor told me to pick up a hobby that will help me sparks some passion in life, so I picked up watch collection again.

I find that in order to get deeper into this hobby also to take me away from missing my wife, I should learn more about watch repair. I always wanted to obtain this skill but there are no where to go to at my local. I am saving up to take up Mark's online course soon.

Currently, I own a few watches from the 1940's to 1970's, some JLC (memovox, dirty dozen, futurematic, Heuer, Rolex, Logines, Glycine, Movado to name a few. I also started collecting vintage Seiko this year. I have many watches that can use some simple fixes, so learning the repair skilk is essential for me. I hope by joining this forum, I will learn more knowledge about watch repairing. Oh! it is so thrill to find out that Mark is actually close by in my neighbor country, I always thought he is far away in US or UK. Ha Ha!
