Help with Omega Seamaster

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Yesterday I received a vintage omega seamaster that I paid around 150 USD for. It's generally in a good condition, but I have a few questions about it. It has the 268 movement.

I tried searching for the inscriptions on the caseback, but found no matching results. Is the case original to this watch? What do you be the reference of the watch?

Did I get a good deal and what is it worth?

Thanks.

Hi  the serial number on the movement 18,694,295 puts it in the range 18,000,000 to 18,999,999. dates it 1961. As far as one can see it looks ok but the case back is plain they usualy had a serpent logo on the ones I have seen but thats not to say its wrong,  Other members with more Omega experience will Know.

Must say this one looks good there might be some small bits and bobs that has to be changed, but for 150$ this is a find.

Something one should look at, might be hard sometimes is small things like the state of the screws. If you look at the right screw on the movement holder you can tell something has been going on with this watch, that screw is not from that watch.
