Thanks for the warm welcome! If it is allowed, I may modify this post and move my question about cases to the main forum. I get the impression that this part of the forum is not visited too often.. 😄

You will need to remove the bezel. In the photo where the red arrow is pointing is a case screw you need to turn that and the movement will come out from the front. It's an English full plate movement. I can't quite see the makers name on the back plate. If you can tell me what it is I can look him up in my books and give you a better date.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, troubleshooting alone is super frustrating. I did inspect the teeth on the escape wheel under magnification for a full rotation and didn't see anything out of the ordinary Here are some more videos of it running. Excuse the potato quality. I was filming from my ipad through a magnifier. Though it seems to have decided to start running since last night. The only thing I did different since this was to give the balance complete a lighter fluid bath Bulova 23 issue https://imgur.com/gallery/PN5Ocr7

Question
Specializedjim 4
Hi all. I recently purchased a Leonidas Bidynator automatic watch to restore. I have repaired and serviced the movement and polished the case but I am not sure what to do with the dial.
It was in very poor condition but a light clean in water revealed small amounts of what looks like silver but the rest has worn off leaving just base brass.
my question is, is this silver the same as a clock dial and could be resilvered using resilvering powder or would I be better off painting it.
I have attached a picture of what I believe to be the same watch in good condition.
as usual many thanks in advance.
