Screw pins on link won't come out

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new watch, Peugeot Diamond, and it has screw pins in the links but I can't for the life of me get them out. I've been able to remove 1 link but one of the screws just turns in place but doesn't move up or down and another won't turn no matter how hard I try. I even tried tapping on the link with the loose screw to get it to slide out just a little so I could grab it with tweezers but that won’t work either. Tried posting pictures with this but it keeps telling me upload failed.

Thanks in advance.

Use heat like a soldering iron, or a lighter to loosen the locking agent. The screw that turns has got snapped by using brute force. I understand that in these days they may be closed but any watch shop should be able to sort this for you.

Get a stick pin from a bulletin board.  Put it in the hole opposite the screw slot and put the pin/bracelet combo down on your desk so you can maintain pressure (gentle pressure) on the base of the pit and the bracelet screw.  Try unscrewing while maintaining pressure on the pin/bracelet.  Easier done than explained.

Good luck,

RMD
