Another Roamer Today - Mst 370

Not quite sure of the date of this one - probably late '50s/early '60s. It's a very small watch and would be considered a ladies' watch today. The movement's an MST 370, which is quite good. You sometimes see one of these advertised as a Roamer "Brevete" - which is a bit daft, as Breveté is just the Swiss/French word for "patented"!

I thought this looked familiar.

I have a very similar Roamer in my "to do" box.

It has the same style of case with the crystal and movement mounted in the s/s case back and then just a tight push fit from the back into the bezel which has the strap lugs, and a split stem.

Mine has batons instead of numerals and has an MST371 movement though.

The only difference that I can see between the 370 and the 371 is that the stud carrier on the 370 is a fixed part of the balance cock but on the 371 it is adjustable which just makes adjustment for beat error simpler.

Mine is fairly poorly and is almost certainly the victim of some inexpert tinkering. The hair spring needs a little re-shaping, the click spring is missing, and the balance end of the pallet fork has been broken off. I also need a new crown and the female part of the split stem.

All relatively easy stuff to sort out once I can track down a donor. I can get the parts separately but the cost far outweighs the value of the piece so patience is the order of the day.
