Its odd, it looks to be related to the Citizen 3100 and its relatives

... but more so to the 700 series.

.. other than the fact that the balance arrangement matches neither. It also shares some similarity to the 0201 (and thus to the HMT)

The 0241 has a similar balance arrangement.. and there is a Bulova version of that designated Bulova 11DP (Citizen 0241) and which Ranfft mentions as being used in Caravelle N0 (1970), so it does indeed appear to be a Citizen/Bulova/Caravell collaboration movement, but I cannot figure out which one.

I am very familiar with  the caravelle 11dp. I have several of them they are apparently a citizen 0241. I have interchanged parts between them and the HMT movement, they come in both  a seven and seventeen jewel version. But this one is a horse of a different color. it was made very early in the production of the caravelle line (1962).As typical with the brand it is cheaply cased, but well sealed. The movement is very clean and apparently unmolested. It is currently disassembled and soaking in mineral spirits . We will see how it runs, I suspect a little low on amplitude and a little high on beat error as is typical of the type.

I wonder if the tendency for low amplitude is due to tired mainsprings. It may also be just down to the design. The HMTs typically run just fine, even with amplitude down around the 200 to 220 mark. But then again, they seem to run just fine with half a sack of Mumbia potatoes in them, so they are pretty robust anyway.
