Tiny spring connecting quartz movement to case back?

Recommended Posts

I am regularly called upon to replace quartz watch batteries for family and friends. Often there is a tiny spring (or two) rising vertically from the movement which makes electrical contact with the case back, and often one is missing. Do these little springs have a name? I've tried finding them to buy as "watch spring" etc but all I get is hits for spring pins for metal bracelet links. Any help with sourcing a few of these would be great.

Regards

Thanks! I tried all the combinations of those key words generally, on Amazon, and on eBay, but with no luck.

But I hadn't thought of pulling a springbar apart. I'm sure I can make that work!  I've used just a short bit of twisted copper wire in the past but that is hit and miss as regards reliability. You really need the springiness to maintain good contact in robust use.  Some watches will tolerate a missing spring, but perhaps with no alarm or beep. But some simply declare "OPEN" on the display  and refuse to work.

Many thanks for your help and suggestions. I'll report back in due course. :)
