Welcome Mike. We all start somewhere. We were all in your spot at some point.

It's very important to be patient with this hobby/job, first and foremost, and also keep an eye out for various details. This way you won't rush and mess things up and you'll eventually end up figuring out how to deal with various challenges. :)

Thanks for the welcome and caution.

My first hump is identifying several watches and a pocket watch that was in my wife's stash for many years. We just started digging through stuff and found them.

Where would be the best place to post to try to identify them as being anything other than "recycle" food.

Any help appreciated.

Mike

Welcome here. We have a "chat about watches" section. It may seem strange but with some Swiss mov't sometime is needed to take a picture with hands and dial removed for identification. But going hands on is IMHO much more fun and rewarding.
