Screwdriver bit honing!

Hi guy’s, what grit of oil stone do you need to sharpen screwdriver bits with! Cheers!

Quite a fine one, I have it one drivers holder, or an aluminum oxide bar for knives will do good.

A fine India stone is pretty much the standard.

I always used a arkansas stone set in a wooden block with a little oil.

Same as @oldhippy, a hard or medium arkansas stone that sets in a wood box. Plus, a bit of oil. Occasionally I wipe the stone with with oil to remove metal grit and keep the stone open.

Hi  Follow the advise given and use a honeing guide to get the correct angle, If money is no object Horotec do a machine to hollow grind screwdrivers .

Grinding at an angle is right and can be easily done with a $3 roller, but before going to that motions inspect the blade for damage and the check in the slot of the screw you will be working, they can all be a bit different. If the tip touches the bottom what you want is to widen the blade tip thickness, that is done grinding the frontal edge as mentioned, not the sides. It will make a world of difference when it comes to grip.

I use a 1200 grit diamond stone from cousinsuk . Works fine and i get a little matt finish that holds the screws .

I also use a diamond stone. Same I use for my gravers.
