Mainspring: Bridle End vs. Hole End

I'm working on a Waltham aircraft clock that has two broken mainsprings. The mainsprings have holes at both ends for attaching to the arbor and barrel but the new ones I received have a bridle at the barrel end instead of a hole. Is it possible to use the bridle end even though the barrel has the tab for a hole end?

The bridle end will work fine.
