Kienzle mainspring

Kienzle movements/calibers are often quite "agricultural", however, a bit like Timex movements, they are also generally pretty robust. Therefore, the lack of a barrel cover may be "normal" for this movement, but I couldn't state that for certain.

The first thing you will need to do is identify the movement. Without that information, you would not be able to source parts, or find any other information about the movement. As Nucejoe has mentioned, the caliber number is usually stamped on one of the plates. Something like this perhaps.

If you know the movement number enter it in the search box, otherwise, search for Kienzle and see if you can spot your particular movement that way.
