DIASHOCK SPRINGS

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!  So I've been working on a few Seiko 6106 movements in the recent months and I decided on this latest one to attempt to remove, clean and oil the Diashock jewels.  I was thankfully able to disassemble and reassemble everything without loosing any pieces!  I've noticed now that after having everything apart I have what seems to be to much end shake in the balance.  Its to the point of the balance wheel actually touching the pallet fork bridge.  So I'm just curious, can the Diashock spring be put in incorrectly where it can actually cause the jewel to drop creating to much end shake?  Any input would be greatly apprectiated!

Sounds more like it could be worn. The diashock can be put in both ways but is usually bent in one direction. And easier to put in like it was before. Check the pivots of the balance. If broken or worn down find a better balance .
