Chrono hand runs backwards ETA G15-26 6J

Recommended Posts

I just got a nice sport model Tissot with retrograde subdials and the ETA G15-26 6J movement. I put a new 394 battery in it, set all of the hands. When I click the chrono button, the chrono hand either jerks back and forth or runs backwards. I can reset it to 12 with no problems. Are there any repair suggestions other than buy a movement for it? Steve

I figured it out. This is a new one on me. It is supposed to run backwards! I found a manual online and the retrograde model is supposed to have the chrono hand set at the 45 mark, and it runs CCW to the 15 mark then quickly reverses back to the 45 mark. There are even 0 to 30 marks in an inner dial ring, running from 45 to 15. Very odd to have a retrograde second hand.

It still has an issue though, in that the hand sometimes falters and jerks back and forth then resumes its counting, but is then off time and has to have a hand reset done again. Steve
