Got a ladies Omega De Ville in an auction lot today. My limit for repairs to this point has been installing batteries. The watch runs but runs several hours fast.
I know there are a few reasons it could be running fast. I don't have a degausser but suspect it could be magnetized.
What are some other things I should consider or questions I should ask if I take it in for repair?
Also, do you know if there was originally a plastic retaining ring to secure the movement in the case? There was none when I opened the back.

      Thanks in advance!

      Hello!
Not sure if this is the right place for my question since I do not intend to do the repair myself. However I am wondering if anyone knows an approximate price of a tachymeter for the Omega 3520.50 day-date (tripple date).
If anyone has any idea what a insert and the "repair" would cost at a watch shop, please let me know.
      Thanks in advance.

      Hello.
I am about to work on a Omega ladies automatic watch.
I found out that the axis of the rotor is out of place and shakes up and down.
What could be done in this situation?
      Thanks!

    • Its worth it for average use but again it will not help if you are working with movements with center seconds, esp ones that dont have a jewel bridge and just use a spring.
    • ah, I see the crystal number is different as well. That makes snse since I did find two different sized crystal in the larger envelope. There must have been a change in the case used form 1974 to 1975.   Can you measure the crystal on the 75 and tell me how many mm?  Alos does it look like high dome?   alos, found the correct sweep for  the project. It is a chromed elongated triangle. the other project you show is a Sprite with model 24 movement.  If I were working on it, I'd use white vinegar to remove the rust.
    • Hello there, I have recently acquired a gucci 9300 watch. It's a chronograph and as far as I can see looks akin to other pictures of this watch on the internet. None of the hands are moving however I think that  this Is due to the fact that it hasn't been worn/serviced/touched for a few years. I have purchased a watch repair kit and am thinking of replacing the battery and maybe adjusting the links. Any advice on this, what battery to use, things to look out for ect.  Any help greatly appreciated thanks for your time, Dylan.
    • Hard to see from the photos, but would that be 14 good ticks then a step? Check the escape wheel for a damaged or dirty tooth.
    • That is beautiful. Congrats!
