Telechron alarm clock red dot repair

Hello all, this is my first post so i hope i have found the correct group.  I have a telechron alarm clock model: 7HA141 that has a non-functioning red dot indicator. I am not sure if this is AM/PM or an alarm indicator. upon opening the case i found that there was nothing attached to the lever coming off the indicator piece.  I have not been able to find a picture or video to show how this indicator is supposed to function and link to the rest of the movement. can anyone help and tell me what i am missing?

I do not know of that movement never had much to do with electric clocks. What I can remember with some old ones. They would have a little window in the dial at 12 and the wheel would be coloured so it stood out from the rest of the clock and rotate so you could observe and know the clock was working. That is all I can help you with on this one sorry.

interesting responses. it does not seem to change when powered up and resetting time with the manual crown on the back. regarding oldhippy's comment, i am familiar in wrist watches that have a sub dial that has alternating colors and rotates. I have seen that on Jaeger Lecoutre watches but this clock does not function like that. there is no connection from anything to the red/white indicator. any other ideas out there? any ideas on a site that may specialize in these old electric alarm clocks?

The red dot on a Telechron clock is called the "reset indicator."  It is there to let you know that the power was interrupted since you last looked at the clock, so that you are aware the time shown is incorrect and the clock needs resetting.  When resetting the clock, the reset indicator also needs to be reset.  It's very simple:  1) Unplug the clock. 2) Set the clock hands to the correct time. 3) Turn the clock UPSIDE-DOWN. 4) Plug the clock back in. 5) Turn the clock right-side-up.  You now have a clock showing the correct time, with the reset indicator showing the same color as the dial, meaning all is well.  That's all there is to it, but be sure you follow the steps in the correct order.  Hope this helps.
