Automatic pocket watch?

 I saw an ad recently for an automatic pocket watch.    I thought maybe some marketing intern was just throwing around watch-sounding buzzwords, but the body of the ad indicated that the watch was supposed to be self winding.  

 Is that a thing, automatic pocket watches?  It would seem to me that, in a pocket rather than on a wrist, there wouldn’t be enough movement to keep it wound.  

 Was this something that watch companies regularly did, or is this one of those “seemed like a good idea at the time” things ?

I've never seen one for the reasons you just described.  There's very little pendulum motion in your pocket to wind a watch.

Below is a Breguet designed automatic pocket watch movement from 1780, among the first self winding watch movements. Not sure why someone would make one other than an ode to these early innovations...
