Hi all, hope you had a nice new years. I was working on a UG 218 and am finishing it up when I noticed the microrotor weight rattled. Upon inspection the axel seem wormed and I replaced it. However when replacing it I noticed that that the weight itself is two parts. The first part is the weight and the second part is the the jewels that attach to the axel. The two parts are held together with pins that run the length. and on my weight the pins are no longer holding together tight so the weight is pinging off the second jeweled part. My question is, is it possible to to tighten these two pins or do I need a whole new weight? I have circled the two pins I’m speaking of in green.

Dear Watchmakers Short time ago I bought an old Universal Genève watch containing Cal. 262. The watch was generally in a working condition, but the movement always stopped after a few seconds. So I was looking forward for an overhaul project. After disassembling, cleaning and reassembling the movement now runs continuously, but the timegrapher shows an image I can’t live with. I certainly do not expect COSC values, but is this timegrapher image acceptable for such an old movement? This would normally scream for an inspection/overhaul. I could not find any damaged parts. Everything runs smoothly. Best wishes

Hi everyone. I wonder if someone can help me. I am just a beginner and new to the site but reading through some of the threads have been amazed how helpful everyone is. I have a 50's Universal Geneve wrist watch with a 263 movement which had stopped and needed a thorough clean. I have fully disassembled it but realise now I probably did not need to take off the upper (watch face side) balance pinion jewel plate with the lyre spring, just to clean the capstone and jewel! Anyway, whilst struggling to reassemble this section, the lyre spring (pictured before escape) made a successful break for it and is lost to the world forever. Could anyone please tell me how to find another of the right size to fit? I know Cousins sell them, but do not know how to relate their ETA sizes to UG movements. Is there a conversion list somewhere? Hugely grateful for any assistance. Best regards Jon
