Hello watch repairers.
I have been working on vintage caliber Unitas 6325.
Since it was my second time with the movement, I did not have any trouble servicing it.
But I made a mistake when fitting barrel arbor to the mainspring and disaster happened when I tried to wind it up after assembly.
The spring made cracking sound and I found broken mainspring upon opening up the barrel.
The end tip where arbor is fitted was bent as arbor was released from the mainspring when I tried to wind it up.
To reshape the tip, I bent it the other way and it chipped off.
I think I should replace the mainspring but I wanted to know if there is any chance of making this mainspring usable may be by modifying it.
Any opinion is welcome. Thanks.
