Hello watch repairers. I have been working on vintage caliber Unitas 6325. Since it was my second time with the movement, I did not have any trouble servicing it. But I made a mistake when fitting barrel arbor to the mainspring and disaster happened when I tried to wind it up after assembly. The spring made cracking sound and I found broken mainspring upon opening up the barrel. The end tip where arbor is fitted was bent as arbor was released from the mainspring when I tried to wind it up. To reshape the tip, I bent it the other way and it chipped off. I think I should replace the mainspring but I wanted to know if there is any chance of making this mainspring usable may be by modifying it. Any opinion is welcome. Thanks.

Hello all! I got my hands on a 15j Unitas 6497, and I would like to case it: Could you provide any sources of 41mm or less cases? I found something on Ofrei (http://www.ofrei.com/page1494.html), but I was wondering if there wouldn't be any smaller cases that would fit a 6497? Thank you, Bogdan

I am looking to assemble a watch and have been looking at Unitas 6497/6498. See the picture below, one is an Asian 6497, the other is Swiss Unitas 6497. One is less than $100, the other is at least double or triple that. What's your experience with these Asian vs Swiss movements both from service point of view, and also from accuracy of timekeeping point of view.
