i purchased a used ETA 2879 movement by accident last week - i paid $12 bucks for it, so i'll still use it. it's got a roamer rotor on it and when it arrived, the rotor was loose. so i tightened it up and upon doing so, the rotor will not move at all. i've never had this happen before. also, the bearing is tight, so no problems there. but, why would the rotor screw, when tightened, lock the rotor in place? i cannot tell what would make this situation.

Hello I am, not just new to this forum, I am also new to horology. I have focused my new hobby on building a good collection of historic MST movements in the last two months I have acquired 78 watches none newer than 1970 oldest is 1903 (my guess) Due to rapid increase in numbers I have some that are working better than others Keeping these serviceable is my primary concern So decided to study one movement family MST371/372 best way to learn is break down 5 movements DONE NOW WHAT TO DO? I am now on suicide watch I will load some images when I can steady my hands I

Hey all, I recently acquired a Roamer. As soon as I unwrapped it the movement fell out of the case into my hand. Here is a picture of the case and movmement: I've not worked on a watch like this before where the movement comes out along with the case back. I can't for the life of me figure out how the caseback/movement are supposed to stay in the case. It looks like a snap back but it simply falls out when I put it together. I contacted the seller and they said it must have been shipping damage and that they would pay to have it repaired, but honestly I can't figure out how this could have ever worked. It's almost like there is some kind of ring missing or something. Any thoughts?
