  1. Gents, just started reading the book by Mr Fried, I’ve had a flick through before but now reading it fully, anyway in the first chapter about hairsprings has just got me thinking, now the picture shows a gauge made by Favorite, with the words Genevas on one side and lever on the other. All cut outs are numbered and all round indents are also numbered. i thought maybe it was a mainspring gauge, if so could some one please explain the correct way and how to use it please. But maybe it’s a hairspring balance wheel matcher?? Again if so I think the book has explained how it is used, but again another explanation would be appreciated. many thanks Guys
