  1. So. I finally managed to plonk a gold skeleton-version of the venerable and beginner-friendly 6497 into a black case. However, given there's no actual dial to hold the hour-wheel in place, it gets dislodged and hour indication is thus random. The 'dial' is a DIY 3D-printed thing, painted red to go with the gold and black. Any ideas on how to retain the hour-wheel without obscuring view to the fairly ok looking movement?
  2. Hello everyone. I have a Chinese 6497 movement (Seagull ST36) with a broken hairspring. I can’t seem to find a replacement anywhere online. There are plenty of replacements for 2800 series (Seagull ST21). There also 46940 balance wheels available which look similar. My questions are pretty dumb. Can I use either of these in my ST36? Also, does anyone know if ST36 balance wheels are available anywhere? Sorry to trouble everyone but I’m new here.
  3. Hello all! I got my hands on a 15j Unitas 6497, and I would like to case it: Could you provide any sources of 41mm or less cases? I found something on Ofrei (http://www.ofrei.com/page1494.html), but I was wondering if there wouldn't be any smaller cases that would fit a 6497? Thank you, Bogdan
  4. I am looking to assemble a watch and have been looking at Unitas 6497/6498. See the picture below, one is an Asian 6497, the other is Swiss Unitas 6497. One is less than $100, the other is at least double or triple that. What's your experience with these Asian vs Swiss movements both from service point of view, and also from accuracy of timekeeping point of view.
