  1. The crystal on my Gruen Veri Thin Precision 380 cracked at some point. And I never had to search for a double dome mineral glass crystal with this high a dome before. And it is a constant radius; it doesn't flatten on top. It is 38.2 mm diameter, is uniformly 1 mm thick throughout, and is 4 mm deep inside. I have found no other high dome crystal like it, in all my searches. I put a temporary GS XHD crystal on my watch for now, but I would love to find a crystal like what it had. The high-curved dome was part of the look of the watch. Does anyone here know of a source?
  2. Last night I had the movement running super smoothly within 10 seconds/day with decent amplitude (I don't remember exactly but I want to say 200) Today it was running insanely slow (400 seconds slow per day), the amplitude was around 120. I think it has something to do with the pallets because it is making an odd sound while ticking. One tick is much louder than the other. The hairspring looks very straight and pivots on balance look good. I don't think it's an end shake issue from the balance because the odd tick if I give it more space. Any ideas on what could cause this? I haven't messed with anything since last night so I'm not really sure what's going on or if it was just a fluke that it was running smoothly when I timed it last night.
  3. Hello, new to this forum. I'm in need of a clutch wheel for my Gruen 877s Techni-Quadron.
  4. Hello! I am an absolute watch repairing novice. While attempting to replace the winding stem of my Gruen Curvex from the 40s (I suspect), as I was loosening the bolt screw, I believe I may have unscrewed too much and released the 'bolt piece' from underneath. If someone could please provide me with further information on how to remedy this situation, I would be very very appreciative! Thanks so much. The watch I am working on is a Gruen Curvex 17 Jewel Precision, printed on the inside of the case is the following: G466293 440 498
