Hi, I have an Ice watch where the number 6 has fallen lose and the minute hand is rotating freely when holding the watch at different angles. I've attached three pictures. Can someone tell me: 1. How to remove the crown ? I can't determine where to release it from. 2. How to reattach the minute hand ? IceWatch.zip

Cheers mates!! Need to replace the stem on a ETA 2872 movment. Tried yesterday to screw the stem out of the crown, but it did not move a mm, dared not to take to hard on... Is this a usual thread screw in stem?? not links thread or somthing? Or just stuck after 40 years...? A good day to you all....

Hi, I have a watch with ETA 2836 movement (17 jewels, day/date indicator). The crown does not go back to the 1st position, only 2 (adjust day/date) and 3 (adjust hands). From the third crown position, when turning the crown, in certain positions the whole stem comes out. I have a strong suspicion that I will have to have it serviced, unless you can advice me what might cause the problem and there is an easy fix for that. (I have found this video - but this is slightly different problem depicted (unable to move the crown to 3rd position (hands adjustment ))

I am looking for a stem/crown for a Miyota quartz movement (see attached). Why does Miyota seldom write the movement's part number on the movement? Can anyone help? It goes inside a cheap Nelsonic LAX 766 watch.

Apologies if this has been asked before. What is the best way to separate a stem from a crown? The stem isnt rusted or showing any type of damage but it will not unscrew from the crown. i have tried soaking it in acetone to break any adhesive to no avail. Thanks

I'm working on my first Omega restoration (normally a Seiko guy) and it's an Omega Speedmaster reduced (3510.50) but missing its crown. Looks like I can get a replacement from Cousins but does anyone know the diameter, and ideally the depth (height) as well? Thanks in advance.

Dear friends, This small centenary pocket watch of my collection came to me without a crown as you can see. This is a pity, since the mainspring and balance test as working and everything else seems to be in good condition. The stem sits correctly inside the sleeve and can be adjusted to two positions (winding/time setting). I have taken some measurements in case any one has a spare crown of the correct size: Crown (base): 4.6 mm. Sleeve (outer diameter): 3.36 mm. Stem (length): 9.44 mm. Thread (length): 1.72 mm. Thread (width): 1.14 mm. Square end: 0.99 mm. This grandpa-watch really misses its old ticking days! Please have a look in your spares. Thank you in advance!

Hi all My Superoceans crown only screws down about a half turn from when it catches till when it is tight. Is this correct? Feels like it should screw down further. if it isn't right, any advice on sorting it out? thanks

Hi everyone. A bit of a puzzle. I know there's probably a straightforward answer to this... I have a Victorinox Swiss Army Officer's 1884 - 24709. I need to understand... How do I waterproof when the crown is pushed in? It appears to have a flush post crown which the stem screws directly into. However the case tube is also flush with the case. The stem has some wiggle in it when attached as if something is missing. However looking from the inside there doesn't appear to be any evidence of a gasket. Has anyone seen this type of setup, or know what may be amiss? I would prefer to keep the crown if at all possible. Otherwise I would replace the case tube with a generic screw-down crown but that's really a last resort. See attached pics. Thanks! -A

Could I ask for a little help please, I'm looking at a pdf of a movement I'm learning on, and am hoping someone can tell me the equivalents of these oils listed: Mobius A Seiko oil S-4 Seiko oil S-6 I have at my disposal: Mobius: 8300, 9010, 9104, 9415 Also... before disassembling the watch; the crown would not wind the main spring and there seemed no day of the week advance on the crown either. simply 2 positions. date advance and time adjust. I could see nothing broken or missing inside and am now thinking, perhaps that's as it was made. It had an auto wind mech. so perhaps Seiko decided it wouldn't need hand winding??? Am I very much mistaken? many thanks Tim

Hi everyone, I am just getting into the world of amateur watchmaking and one of my projects is a Orient Mako XL I picked up for cheap on eBay. What's funny is I've already accomplished the hard part which was getting the movement working again. Now, I need to find a replacement crown as it is completely missing. The winding stem and plunger (not sure the appropriate term other than plunger, it's the piece that slides up and down the end of the stem that attaches to the screw down crown and fits snuggly inside the case tube) are all intact and in good condition. I can attach some photos in a bit... I've searched high and low on the interwebs to find a supplier of Orient parts and have come up dry. Has anyone had any luck contacting Orient directly to get specific parts? What would be great is if I could find a parts directory for Orient to be able to find the actually part number for ordering. Otherwise, I'm not dead set on it needing to be an original Orient crown. This being a screw down crown I'm not sure how hard it would be to find a generic screw down crown that would fit.

I have an old small Seiko quartz watch with a case number 200834 and stem number 2E20-6300. Some time after a repair of the stem by a jewelry store, the stem began to malfunction again and the crown got loose and was lost. After watching a few of the repair videos on your website, I thought Seiko design should be just as straight-forward, and I might be able to do the repairs myself. So, I purchased a new stem and a new crown and tried to remove the stem after attaching the new crown by pushing on any of the holes or screw-looking spots or levers to unlock the catch. Unfortunately none of them seemed to budge. In the process of fiddling, the watch internal popped out of the casing with the seal now loose. I would appreciate any help that anybody could offer. I guess I may have to purchase some very small screw drivers if needed. FYI: I am attaching two pictures of the watch, one for the back side of the internal and one for the watch back cover. In the first picture, the watch internal is just resting on the watch casing. Thank you.
