  1. Please could anyone help with this crystal replacement question. I am looking to order a new acrylic crystal for the attached Mondiane I got this week. It just pops out of the bezel, not glued in. I've measured it at 32.48mm (seems like an odd size) both inside the ring and the crystal itself if that makes sense. Difficult to measure the height but I thought it might be a high dome without step? Some advice from a Facebook forum suggested that a Domed with step might be better due to the height of the cushion dial. Just want to make sure I order the right thing. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Just to update the group, I retrieved the ratchet wheel screw and got it ticking. I can set the time but the winder stem is very stiff and I cant set the date which I belive is done by pulling the crown half out. I'll have to do a bit more work and remove and clean the stem etc. but thanks for the help so far.
  3. Thanks, I need to look closer in future, thanks for your help.
  4. I think I've located the missing Ratchet Wheel Screw in the movement stopping it working. Thanks again.
  5. Where would I get replacement screws for the movement, there are three I spotted highlighted in the attached pic, Ratchet wheel and two case screws. Noticed Cousins have a selection, do you think they would do the job? Or should I be ordering specific screws etc..
  6. Thanks for that info, I'll take a look. I haven't got to disassemly yet, next weeks work thank you.
  7. Hi All, Just after a bit of advice on a new find this week. Its a Rotary 1971 from the hallmarks on the gold case. Been trying to identify the movement on Ranft and trying to find a similar example but I'm struggling. Its a non runner at the moment so I'll need to strip it down so it would be useful to know what the movement is and if there is any reference material i can use. I've attached some pics if anyone can help or point me in the righat direction. Many Thanks.
  8. Thanks for all your help everyone, much appreciated.
  9. A novice question, I'm looking for a replacement crown for my Zodiac Guardsman Automatic. I've measured the stem at 0.70mm. Done some research and according to the Esslinger website that's a TAP12. What's confusing me is that on some other websites and Ebay they say TAP12 is 1.2mm and TAP7 is 0.70mm. Its a threaded stem (couple of pics below). It's conused me and I want to make sure I order the right thing. Sorry for starter question just getting into this hobby which is both fascinating and absorbing (and addictive). The Stem comes to flush with the top of the case tube and I believe I'm look
  10. Thanks for having me here. Just joined and just starting to getting into watch tinkering etc. Always had a love of vintage watches, an interest passed on from my Dad who had some great watches some of which I now have, mainly Swiss. Can't wait to get up to speed and contribute to discussions and get some help when needed - which won't be long, believe me!
