  2. Thank you also for your quick responce. If the answere is congealed oil or some small debris , what can be done......soaking or applying alchol or lighter fluid ? Do you know of any diagrams for this particular watch style movement ? Thank you for any suggestions Dan

  4. Fixing a Timex Electric (Dynabeat) Watch (battery) from the 1970's.....with battery will run only 3 to 5 seconds once shook. Battery compartment is clean & sanded contacts. I pulled crown / stem out & sets & moves hands (....when pushed in I can shake/rotate watch & will run for 3 to 5 seconds , ...... with stem/ crown pulled out , will not run....) I believe this is normal......The watch insides look very clean , no corrosion nor battery leakage.... Can any members give me some information on what direction I should take on this problem?   5. Thank you! Followed above information & all went fine . Now have a clean working Timex Dynabeat. Runs well & keeping good time. Hardest part was to set date/day ..... Finally got this set but was wondering if there is any information on the best way to set this feature ? Thank you again. Dan
  6. Greetings to All Members: Just found your website today & decided to join. From what I saw on your home page looks like you carry a broad range of topics. I have been collecting watches about 2 years. Always on the lookout for mainly wrist watches, both mechanical & electronic.......and occasionally quartz. Have no real specific brand other than mostly American Names from the 20's through 1960's. I also have several mantle clocks & several pocket watches. Just always on the lookout for any interesting examples of particular eras. I have limited skills & "eye sight" outsid

  8. With my limited knowledge I have found a quick & effective way to remove minor scuffs & scratching from my "plastic / acrylic " watch cystals......crystal stays in watch case. I use a fine grit sandpaper.....not sure but believe 225U.....very fine....... I wet crystal with a few water drops & by hand do circular & cris cross, maintaining moisture, clear residue & repeat 3 or 4 times, always with moisture. This leaves the "plastic / acrylic " crystal with a hazey look. I then use toothpaste....put a small dab on dry face cloth & take watch crystal & with some p
  9. Hello: I'm new to this site....I read the above on stem removal from a Timex Electric.......I discovered the clip after quite a while. I am now working on a Timex Dynabeat which has a different movement ..... but I am not seeing what has to be moved or removed in order to remove the stem.
