  1. Thank you for the replies. This is all very new to me and to be honest wouldn't really know where to begin. No experience whatsoever. So I'm thinking my best bet would be to locate a watch repairer and get a quote as to how much it would cost to get the watch working again. I'm thinking the stem is still in there and it looks like the letter F next to the 4018, I could be wrong. When I move my wrist the second hands starts moving but then stops. Is this watch mechanical or automatic?
  2. Hi all, hope someone can advise. My Grandad gave me this watch when I was 9 years old back in 1981. It's a Swiss Emporor Deluxe 21 Jewels. I'm not sure if it's an automatic or mechanical wind up, but the crown is missing. I do know that it did have a crown and that the watch was working. But I was so young back then. I'm kind of getting back into watches again, and remembered I had my Grandad's watch that had been lying around all these years. Having looked at Timex Marlin watches with the dome crystals etc, I hunted high and low until I found my Grandad's watch. My question is is it repairable if all it needs is a new crown? If not too expensive I'd rather get it repaired than purchase a new one. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the replies. I ended up taking the watch back and asked could I compare it with a couple of others. One being the same and the other, a blue faced white dial with expansion band. Loved the look of it. And decided on that one. Anyway turns out they were all the same with the straight edge either at the 12 or 6. So I guess with the casing design it's normal. Interestingly enough I found a vid on you tube, in the image you'll notice at the top edge the line at the top for the sheet shes testing for the indiglo.
  4. Thank you, did you have any defect with your indiglo. Ja I'm very impressed with the brightness.
  5. Yes I'll take it back. And to answer your question, I'll probably use it most of the time if I wake up during the night just to check the time. I know its only a small defect but besides the simplicity of the face the main reason for purchasing the watch was the indiglo feature. Its nitpicky but it'll irritate the heck out of me.
  6. Hi there, I'm new to the forum and needing some advice please. I've just today purchased a Timex Easy Reader watch. Only to realise that the indiglo does not light up properly at the 6 o clock position. Is this normal or is the watch defective and should I get it replaced. Cheers
  7. Hi there, Ive just purchased a Timex Easy Reader and the indiglo is not lighting up at the 6 o clock position. Is this a defect or should it be like that. The rest of the watch face the indiglo works perfectly. Thanks
