  1. Esslinger.com beats CousinsUK in quality and typically price, especially with Swiss Bergeon tools and tool kits. Esslinger offers tool kits for beginners as well, starting at like 60 USD. That is where I started off, even though it hasn't progressed to much.
  2. Esslinger has a couple different options. One economy and one more expensive (Bergeon). https://www.esslinger.com/watch-cannon-pinion-and-watch-hand-remover-tool/ https://www.esslinger.com/bergeon-30637-watch-cannon-pinion-and-watch-hand-remover/
  3. I already took the case back off and tried unsuccessfully to remove the crystal with a press.
  4. I am a very inept hobbyist even, but I think watchmaking is very interesting and takes years of patient practice! I want to make this watch work again. So it begins....It's been sitting in a shop for a couple years I'm sure! Seems like a welcoming forum! Pictured is a miyota JS26 movement.

  6. You really do not even need to spend $15. I found this one through Esslinger at $5.95! 5 inches in length. https://www.esslinger.com/jewelry-and-watch-micrometer-columbus-style-vernier-caliper-gauge-125mm-5/
  7. I would think a genuine replacement band would be a little harder to find. if you were looking to replace with a different blue rubber/silicone band I would start at: https://www.esslinger.com/blue-color-silicone-rubber-watch-bands-1/ Good luck in the search!
  8. A couple lathes from Esslinger https://www.esslinger.com/compact-polishing-lathe-motor-with-polishing-kit/ $64.95 https://www.esslinger.com/foredom-bl-1-6-hp-motor-polisher-available-in-115v-or-230v/ $199.99
  9. With quality tools, you also want a place with quality reputation. all of the tools mentioned are available on www.esslinger.com (links below) with lots more too! They always ship same day, and have items in stock. I like dumont tweezers. https://www.esslinger.com/bergeon-30081-a10-mini-watchmakers-stainless-steel-screwdriver-set-with-case/ https://www.esslinger.com/swiss-made-ideal-tek-stainless-steel-tweezers/ https://www.esslinger.com/peer-swiss-made-brass-tweezer-am-style/
