  1. Watch is running fine but it still stops randomly, then I have to make to the second wheel and it starts again. I guess the second pinion wheel must be bent as I had trouble fitting the second hand before this happened. So I guess I have to remove the train bridge to check for the second wheel pinion, that's the thing I was trying to avoid.
  2. I made light pressure on the second wheel from underneath and the movement is now running fine. Will check again tomorrow.
  3. 1. I replaced the ratchet wheel and it doesn't change anything. 2. I have replaced clutch wheel and winding pinion and now I can wind the watch, but it still stops. I wonder the second pinion is bent.
  4. Hello, I have disassemble/reassemble the keyless like 20 times, the date position works fine, the changing hour position works fine, but the winding position doesn't work, it make horrible sound and it's like it winds for a second and turns freely the next second and it unwind eventually just after a few seconds. I thought it could be the main spring but I've replace the barrel spring completely from another 2784 I have and the problem is still there. And it stops....and I have to push the balance wheel to make it start, check at 0:27 sec on the video. Any idea on where could be the problem? EDIT: I realized the ratchet wheel has some missing teeth....could that be the problem?
  5. I see! I was mixing the term dial washer and dial spacer. Thanks you very much.
  6. Wouldn't the dial washer just increase the room for the hour wheel to move?
  7. Hello, The problem I am having is that when the watch is upside down the hour wheel seems to move out form its position and turns freely, so it change hour every time I look to it, minute hand is ok. Movement is an ETA 2784 and I mounted it without dial washer, could that be the cause? I have reinstalled the hands like 20 time and screw the clamps tight so the hour wheel have no room to move out, but it keeps ocurring.
  8. Hello, Does anybody know if the automatic mechanism is interchangeable on ETA movement? I'd like to install an ETA2824 mechanism onto an ETA2783. Is that possible? Here's a picture of the 2783 mechanism. From what I've read here, the only difference is in the rotor: "the rotor of the ETA 2783 is, unlike to that of the ETA 2824, only axle and not ball-beared." https://17jewels.info/movements/e/eta/eta-2783/
  9. Well, after reading all your comments I thought let's try it, if I fail I just have to blame you. So here are some pictures and a new video at the bottom. Now somehow it got magnetized during the process (tested on a compass) so I'll make a short visit to a watchmaker around the corner. VIDEO: https://youtu.be/soTyUE6Yhqs
  10. I was more thinking about looking for a complete barrel to just replace it, not sure if I have the guts to open the barrel, would probably find the way to stick that spring into my eye.
  11. ok, I think I understand now. Thanks for the explanation.
  12. When I wear it I don't have any problem, it never stops, but that sound when I handwind it got my attention. What makes you think it's the mainspring? When that sound comes the barrel does not move...so the sound got to come from inside the barrel, is that the logic?
  13. Can you identify the part that need to be replaced?
  14. That's what I was thinking...not with those professional words. That isn't normal is it?
