  1. Excellent, yes I know who that is. Thank you for the information.
  2. Good afternoon everyone. I have finally taken apart my wife's grandfathers Timex watch, which has a 24 movement. I have several questions: 1. The stem is really sloppy, what can cause that? 2. What is the best way to clean this movement. I do not have a machine so it will be done manually. 3. Where can I get a crystal? Is there a place to buy them if I measure it? Thank you for all of your help.
  3. Thank you very much. Yes, I like the dial and hands also. The dial turns a pale blue under different lighting and depending how you are looking at the watch.
  4. This is the watch I am wearing today. My son bought it for my birthday just the other day. Really like it. I changed out the watch band.
  5. Here is a watch I am wearing today. Just got it last month off of EBAY. Was wondering if anyone knows where this watch was made or sold at. It has lettering on the face but cannot seem to find anything out about it. I figure it probably is just a watch that is sold in department stores. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  6. Yes, thank you. I do not think the back comes off from things I have read and looking at it, it seems not to. Yes, I think I will invest in a crystal remover. I am sure I will need one down the road anyway. Thank you for replying.
  7. Hello everyone. I purchased a Timex Electric with West Germany stamped on the dial. I got it off of EBAY. It is not running, but does have a battery in it that I am going to change out. The question that I have is what is the best way to take the crystal off? I have read several different ways. I know I have to take the crystal off to get to the movement. I figured I would do that to clean up the movement and polish the crystal a little bit. Also where can I get a manual or something that would show me more about the watch? Thank you for all of your help.
  8. Thank you for your response. Where can I get parts for this Timex? I need the cover, and the second hand. I even thought about just changing the whole movement but cannot find a number 24 movement. Thank you for all your help.
  9. Thank you for answering. Thank you for the information. No, the watch is not running at the moment. I was looking at getting it running. Should I get a new case or try to fix the lug?
  10. Thank you. Is there a way I can tell when it was manufactured and what movement it has? Thank you.
  11. My wife has an old Timex watch that was her grandfathers. When I took it apart I could see inside the case cover it was stamped Great Britain Timex, but it also has the three letters KFW stamped in blue. Also would like to know what year this watch was manufactured and what movement it has in it. Thank you very much. Hope the pictures are clear enough. Forgot to add that on the dial it has the following numbers: 1605002414, tried looking it up in GOOGLE, but nothing. Thank you again.
