    Watch stops

hi. thanks for the responses. the movement is a raymond dodane RD344-2 apparently inspired in conjuction with the swiss. manufactured in france in besançon 1968-1972. i took the back off and with the watch face up the balance amplitude is no more than 90 degrees at best. the watch is called solo which i suspect went defunct. the watch is only 32mm diameter 17 jewel. i am very suprised it keeps very good time. this in its day was quite a quality watch with 2 hallmarks for gold plated. i will get the watch serviced. again thanks for input best wishes to all roger
  2. hi everybody i have a watch maybe from the sixties which works perfectly face up keeping very good time. unfortunately when you turn it upside down it stops immediately. fault suggestions would very much appreciated regards to all roger

    Faulty Citizen

hi rogart63 yes i did what you suggested but it will not work on automatic for more than a few seconds. on reflection one of these watches passed through my hands a good few years ago with the same fault, but anyway it works fine on the manual wind which i prefer, so i will keep in my collection anyway. thanks for your input best regards roger

  7. i am a newbie and this is my 1st post. i have just brought a citizen 21j mov't 8200a. i opened up the back to take a look at the movement and when i gave it the seiko shuffle the oscillator weight was spinning very fast round and round. i checked the centre screw which was tight. does anybody know this problem, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
